Thales Cryogenics Presents LPT9710 at CEC 2009 Print
LPT9710

At the Cryogenic Engineering Conference 2009 (CEC) in Tucson [Arizona], Thales Cryogenics showed the LPT9710 to the world.

The LPT9710 is a Low Vibration, High-Efficiency Pulse Tube Cryocooler. Based on a moving magnet design, combined with Flexure Bearings, the LPT9710 delivers 15 Watt cooling power (17 Watt typical) at 350 Wat t input power, with a motor efficiency of more than 85%.(shown in the graph below)

Laboratory experiments where the 9710 compressor was combined with a LSF9330 (Stirling) cold head, yielded 15 Watt cooling power at 175 Watt input power. This shows a potential 30 Watt cooling power, when combined with a matching Stirling cold head.
