Thales Cryogenics has been present at the Internal Thales Technodays and the Optro 2010 conference both held in Paris 3-5 February. In two presented papers we introduced the mini linear cryocooler UP8497 and the RM3 rotary cooler with integrated electronics. The UP 8497, currently under qualification, is our new miniaturized moving coil cryocooler with very low vibration and acoustic noise levels. The development of new lining materials and the low moving mass lead to lifetime expectancies of more than 15.000 hours. The rotary cryocooler RM3 is the new development in our successful RM series. With DSP based onboard electronics, many operational as well as diagnostic and monitoring functions are available. Two regulating modes ensure stable functioning at the required cryogenic temperature. Easy communication with the drive electronics using the special software application, allows for ROM programming of the various parameters and fast read-out of stored functional data. The complete description of these products as well as the full text of the presented papers can be downloaded. |
